Tumbleweed Trundling
Press Image for NEPO 5k Don't Run Performance (2012)

For the 2012 NEPO 5k Don't Run Art Walk, I gathered tumbleweeds from Nevada, Utah, Eastern Washington and Southcentral Idaho. I wove these plants into one giant calico tumbleweed and rolled it five kilometers from NEPO House in Seattle's Beacon Hill to the Kobe Terrace Gardens in the International District. Along the way there were countless encounters with NEPO 5k partipicants. The tumbleweed deteriorated and compressed its shape, creating a trail of remnants for people to follow.
